About Orpwoods of Brize Norton (2)
Please sign in to see more. The Orpwoods of Brize Norton came in fact from Bampton in Oxfordshire sometime in the mid-17th century but they came to Brize Norton in about 1770. They did not stay in Brize Norton long however and the tree contains at least four major branches reaching to the present time.
They are one of about 8 major families of Orpwoods all originating in this part of England and the trees of the other families are on other Tribal Pages sites. They are being named according to their particular place of origin and are listed below under Useful Links. Others will be added soon. Visitors having Orpwood ancestors or relatives will need to check each of the sites to discover where their own connections are. Corrections and additions are always welcome.
This tree is one part of a larger one-name study of all the Orpwoods in the world. The one-name study is dedicated to the memory of two Orpwoods whose genealogical efforts provided both information and inspiration to my own: Roy Orpwood of Swansea (d. 2004) and Michael Orpwood of Sydney, NSW (d. 2005).
